Markets on slippery slope (NDTV Profit)

After a firm start, the markets pared some of their early morning gains with the benchmark index trading at 17,834 levels. The Sensex touched a high of 17,982 levels in opening moves. In the broader markets, the Nifty is hovering at 5,187 levels.
